Have you ever thought or wished that your construction & other projects would progress faster?

Are you content with the "normal" rate of progress, or are you ready to take action to get better results?  We can help you get your projects moving more efficiently, and we usually save the project sponsors money at the same time.  Maybe you want a lot better than "normal", "average" and the "status quo".

As an example, on one project where we're doing comprehensive project management, and the projected costs of capital improvements is in excess of $14 million, the project plan is very comprehensive.  The owners know that every day that the project is not completed is over $16,600 of lost profit.  The owners recognize and appreciate how important comprehensive project management is.  It is important to realize that while comprehensive project management is expensive, the cost of not using comprehensive project management is usually far more expensive.

For Projects to progress efficiently, skilled and comprehensive project management is essential!
The overall project can be broken down into manageable tasks, and dependencies / predecessors can be set up.  For example, it is a lot easier to put your socks on BEFORE you put your shoes on.   When tasks are broken down to where they can be completed in a day, two at most, the team of people performing the tasks can focus much more efficiently, and it allows far more accountability.

Too Often architects are not trained in Project Management, how to utilize tools like MicroSoft Project.
Architects are best focusing on the design aspects of projects.  That is not to put architects down.  None of us can do everything.

Lack of good project management often significantly increases the cost and duration of projects, often resulting with projects going far over budget, and taking months longer than they should, not to mention the unnecessary stress associated with inadequate project management.

Good Project Management helps keep projects on time, and within budget, with allowances for increases in the scope of the project.

The above Gantt Chart is typical of one of the tools used by Project Managers.  The chart above is intended to show the concept, and is not complete in every detail.  Red indicates tasks on the Critical Path Columns can be added to show baseline cost, actual cost and other information. The options are many for those skilled in using MicroSoft Project.

Comprehensive Project Management can save hundreds of thousands of dollars, even millions of dollars, after covering the cost of the project management.  Our job is to save you money, while also getting your project completed significantly faster, and improving quality.

Resource Management:

Resource Management involves assigning resources to each task, and assigning cost to the resources.  Together that enables establishing a baseline budget.  MicroSoft Project has the ability to do "Resource Leveling".  Another invaluable part of resource management is encouraging and motivating the people responsible for doing the work, to inspire them to work efficiently and deliver excellence.

Scheduling of Tasks and Resources:

By assigning "Duration" to tasks, we can come up with projected start and finish dates for each individual task.  The way MicroSoft Project works, setting the duration to "0" makes the "task" a "Milestone".  Achieving Milestones is a nice measure of meaningful progress.  When tasks are 100% complete, a checkmark shows up in the left column of the Gantt Chart.

Letting people know ahead of time what tasks they'll be working on, and the scope of the tasks, results in better performance, and happier workers.

Inspections by the town building inspector have to be scheduled at key points during construction projects.
